Workshop 5 – Engaging leaders in non LGBT-friendly locations: How to nurture executive sponsors?

Long the pink elephant in the room, LGBT topics in the foreign offices of large corporations are often dismissed as a head-office quirk not applicable to “me”, a dangerous thought too difficult for local sensibilities which should be shushed, or a D&I toy to be ignored. This workshop explores how decision-makers can become agents of change for the acceptance of LGBT workplace polices and practices on an international scale. Particular focus will be placed on the dilemma of relatively autonomous business units that don’t always see the benefit of a global policy, but also how to better engage their leaders.
