Workshop 1 – The meaning of ‘Inclusion’: Leveraging other employee networks

| March 12, 2014

LGBT employee networks are often compared to a ‘canary in a coal mine’: if an organization can effectively include the LGBT community, then the path is set for other marginalized groups to be more included. But what is the notion of ‘inclusion’. What does it really mean for an organization to move from being “Diverse” to being “Inclusive”? How does this work with other networks such as for women, disabilities, and even those regionally or ethnically focused? How can we better understand ‘inclusion’ if we expect others to include us? This workshop takes all of these ideas a step further by inter-actively defining what “inclusion” really means.
